Earthquake Safety

Japan experiences frequent small earthquakes. You may feel a light tremor for a few seconds. Please stay calm and remain in your room. In most cases, it will stop shortly.

In the hotel

  • Do not go outside until the shaking has completely stopped.
  • Stay inside your room and protect your head with a pillow, bag, or your arms.
  • Move away from windows, shelves, and objects that could fall.
  • If you are using the IH cooktop, turn it off when it is safe.
  • Open the door to secure an escape route after the shaking weakens.
  • Do not use the elevator until safety is confirmed.
  • If you are in the bath, stay calm and move carefully to the living area when safe.
