Transportation IC card: Suica

  • Welcome Suica is useful for trains, buses, convenience stores, and vending machines.
  • As a general rule, Welcome Suica is sold one card per person and is available for foreign tourists.
  • For guests visiting from overseas, we recommend purchasing a Welcome Suica at the airport. Because sales locations within Japan have decreased, purchasing at the airport is usually the smoothest option. Only a passport is needed for purchase.
  • It can be purchased at JR East Travel Service Centers, selected JR stations, and Welcome Suica vending machines at Narita and Haneda airports.
  • Near the hotel, unregistered Suica cards may be available at JR Nippori Station ticket machines or the JR ticket office.
  • Suica can usually be topped up at convenience stores, Seven Bank ATMs, Lawson Bank ATMs, JR ticket machines, and fare adjustment machines.
